Prepare for Import

Clean your tablesEach table should have uniformity across rows and columns
Make columns properMake sure each of the column represent a certain data type - Text, Number, Date etc. and properly formatted
Add column headersAdd the first row of the column as a header row and give a name to every column

Ways to Import

There are multiple ways to import data in Stackby:

Create a stack after import Select 'Import Data' when creating new stack and bring data from CSV, Microsoft Excel or even copy paste from Google Sheets to create a new stack (database).
Create a table after import
Select 'Import Data' when creating a new table and bring data from CSV, Microsoft Excel or even copy paste from Google Sheets to create a new table.
Append data to an existing table
Use a Stackby Powerup, to append a CSV file in your existing table and map your columns to bring information.

After Import

After you import, you'll see your table data as a text. You can then convert the data into relevant column types automatically in Stackby

  • Changing the column containing paragraphs, into long text column type
  • Changing the column containing numbers, into a number column type
  • Changing the column containing tags, to single option column type
  • Changing the column containing multiple tags, to multiple option column type
  • Changing the column containing values, that are important to be referenced from a different table, to link column type (will create a new linked table).
