Go to https://www.alphavantage.co/
Claim your API key here -- https://www.alphavantage.co/support/#api-key
Go to Account in Stackby → Workspace settings → API Configuration in Stackby and add a new integration for Alpha Vantage and paste your API key and save
Alpha Vantage API helps you pull in Stock information via its Stock Quotes API that you can integrate via Stackby.
Now that you have set up the integration, here is how you can pull in your data:
- Go to the stack and keep the first column or any column as the reference (here it will be say -- the stock symbol of a particular company) for collecting your data.
- In the second column, connect to the Alpha Vantage API and rename the column, select "API" as the column property and choose Alpha Vantage as the API and within that the Stock Quotes API and select the stock symbol as reference.
- Add in the stock symbol of the company that you want to prospect, click on the refresh arrow and you see the API work on the stack and the data start filling in the consecutive columns (you get to decide, which data you want to access by selecting it from our data explorer) -- just make sure you change the column names and property beforehand; repeat with other columns.
Available API Functions
Stock API: Get user details by specifying Gitlab Project ID Reference Input column: Stock Symbol Output: Stock details (Price, Open, High, Volume, etc.)
Alpha Vantage provides free API service provided you use it sparingly (up to 5 API requests per minute and 500 requests per day). They also have a premium membership if you would like to need more API requests. The premium membership starts at 30 API requests/minute and goes till 1200 API requests/minute. The charges vary depending on the number of requests.
