# April 2026: Personal Access Tokens

New way to authenticate and connect your Stackby databases

Stackby now supports Personal Access Tokens (PATs) — giving developers and power users a secure, scoped way to authenticate with the Stackby API.

### **What it does**

-   Generate personal access tokens from your Stackby account settings —> Builder Hub
    
-   Use tokens to authenticate API requests without exposing your full credentials
    
-   Revoke or regenerate tokens at any time for security control
    

### **Why it matters**

Personal Access Tokens are the industry-standard way to enable programmatic access. They make it easier to build integrations, scripts, create MCP and developer tools on top of Stackby securely.
