# March 2026: New Automation Action - Sort List

Now sort a list as part of your automation workflow

Stackby automations can now sort a list of values as part of your workflow — enabling you to process, prioritize, and organize data automatically.

### **What it does**

-   Add a Sort List step within any automation
    
-   Sort arrays of values in ascending or descending order
    
-   Use the sorted output in downstream automation steps (e.g., pick the top item, write back to a field)
    

### **Why it matters**

When working with multi-value fields or collected lists, sorting is a critical preprocessing step. This action makes it easy to work with ordered data — no manual intervention needed.
